A holistic education at ISKL extends well beyond classroom learning and includes a comprehensive program of “service learning” opportunities where students are encouraged to get involved and make hands-on, positive changes within local communities.
Grade 8 students Arthur Dorleans and James Herold were grinning from ear to ear as they waited for their ride on a recent sunny day after school.
The annual Kids 4 Kids Party was recently held at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital. ISKL K4K, also known as Kids 4 Kids, is a nonprofit organization where ISKL students volunteer to spend time with cancer children at the Pediatric Cancer Ward in KL Hospital.
ISKL Choral Exchange Music Festival Under the direction of international composer, conductor, scholar and music educator, Dr. Andrea Ramsey, the Robert B. Gaw Theatre at Ampang Campus was serenaded with a fantastic celebration of music and culture on Saturday, January 20, 2018.
On Wednesday, September 20, 2017, the Middle and High School Art Departments had the pleasure of hosting Mr. Oscar Olivares, a young painting and illustration artist from Venezuela. Mr. Olivares shared with our students how he was inspired to create art through the events happening in his home country, and how as an artist, he had the choice to pursue hope in his artworks while there might be turmoil around him. Mr. Olivares also spoke to our students about how he pursued his dream of being an artist even though he faced obstacles, and he kept on drawing and creating art – which was very inspiring to our students.
Novel Knockout is an annual event organised by The Kuala Lumpur Librarian Network (KLLN) which was proudly hosted by ISKL in 2017. Students across 11 schools read eight books and were quizzed on details – short answers on paper and multiple choice on the iPad – for a total of 160 questions per round!
Of all the experiences our students share in Middle School, every year Malaysia Week stands out as a highlight. Amazing things happen when Middle Schoolers break out of their normal routines and comfort zones. They try new and challenging activities and become reliant on one another. This is what Malaysia Week is all about; learning enthusiastically and collaborating constructively.
Middle School Music Department hosted the annual Music Festival for over 250 young musicians, seeking to cultivate the concert band culture.

ISKL Middle Schooler Ilaria Kaharudin broke the International School Activities Conference (ISAC) 100-meter Butterfly swim record.
