Job Title: Assistant to Head of School for Board of Directors

Divisional Team: Board of Directors

Reports to: Head of School

Hire type: Part time 20 hours/week

JOB PURPOSE

ISKL is governed by the Board of Directors composed of parents elected by the ISKL community. The Board sets the school policy and monitors its implementation. As a non-profit school, the Board has fiduciary responsibility to ensure that all resources are well managed and invested to support our only shareholders – the students!

The Board meets regularly throughout the school year, both as a whole and in working committees, to achieve ISKL’s mission. The Board assistant is an independent role that serves as a liaison between the Board and the Head of School. The Board assistant reports directly to the ISKL Head of School and works closely with the Board Chair and other Board members at various Board of Directors’ meetings.

To achieve the job purpose, the Board assistant ensures that communication channels are positive and purposeful . The independent candidate ensures the roles and responsibilities of Board members are adhered to appropriately.

RESPONSIBILITIES inclusive but not limited to

  • Provides full managerial and administrative support and advice on all Board related meetings and conferences, including the physical or travel arrangements, preparation of agendas and compilation of minutes. These meetings include Open, Executive, committee meetings, AGMs, EGMs and Annual Election of Board members, amongst others.
  • Keeps all society documents and records in order, maintains a record of all Board meetings.
  • Manages Board WebSite both internal and external ensuring accurate and updated information is published in a timely manner
  • Keeps policy manual and Board procedure guides up to date.
  • Maintains and coordinates a master calendar related to all Board related meetings and conferences.
  • Able to attend all board related meetings
  • Organize all meeting logistics

Technical skills

  • Maintain professionalism and strict confidentiality with all materials, and exercise discretion when interfacing with the operations of the school
  • Demonstrates strong oral and written communication skills in English and a passion for details
  • Enhances effectiveness by providing information management support; organizes work by reading and routing correspondence; collecting information; and initiating communications
  • Demonstrates competency with technology, including Google Suite, conference calls (such as skype, zoom, and google hangout), and projector usage.

Personal skills

  • To emulate and excel in ISKL’s culture in demonstrating empathy and care, commitment to collective efficacy in nurturing positive impacts to the organisation, and having high expectations of self is an absolute necessity!
  • Must have the ability to interact well within the ISKL community, able to navigate and be respectful in multinational settings with all stakeholders.

  • Must be able to think creatively, communicate effectively, reason critically, collaborate constructively and learn enthusiastically
  • Must be a team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • University degree, with post-graduate and/or professional qualifications preferred
  • Minimum 7 years relevant work experience in an administrative capacity preferred
  • Work experience in an international school or other similar environment advantageous
  • Must be IT literate and familiarity with Google Applications a plus
  • Must have excellent command of the English Language
  • Must be flexible with work hours

ISKL is looking for young, bright, and dynamic interns to join our Alumni & Development
team.

The Role:
To support and work closely with the Director of Development and Alumni Engagement to promote and grow Alumni relations, campus projects, and community fundraising activities. The role broadly covers the many facets of Alumni activities, including website and social media, event planning, and database management. With a focus on community and sustainability, the Development aspect of the role focuses on assisting with the administration of funds, planning, and project management to support ISKL’s Mission and Vision.

Key Tasks:
• Website and social media content management
• Alumni outreach and database management
• Event management
• Financial records management
• Communications

Ideal Candidate Attributes:
The ideal candidate will be mission-driven, able to work independently, be flexible, and adaptable to changing circumstances. They will have a strong interest in people and be willing to share ideas to support the goals of the department. Enthusiasm, creativity, and attention to detail are essential.

6 months paid internship
