Middle School Learning Resource

ISKL Batik Logo
Our team works collaboratively with grade-level teaching teams to ensure a high-quality core curriculum that is differentiated for the learning needs within their classrooms.

In  Middle School, the Learning Resource program supports students with their academic, social, and behavioral skills growth. The Middle School has a Learning Resource specialist at each grade level and works collaboratively with grade-level teaching teams to ensure a high-quality core curriculum that is differentiated for the learning needs within their classrooms. In Middle School, the daily structure of 30 minutes of What I Need (WIN) time ensures extra help and support is available for all students.

In addition to helping teachers through co-teaching, co-planning and co-assessing, Learning Resource specialists use a Multi Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) model, to review data and identify student needs with teaching teams and provide targeted research-based interventions.

These targeted interventions may target areas such as math gaps, reading fluency, comprehension, decoding, organizational skills, time management or managing anxiety. Interventions are delivered at the frequency and intensity of the student’s needs and progress is regularly monitored.
