Malaysia Week CollageCulture and international mindedness; gratitude and rejoice; perseverance and commitment; a week that reminds us what school is all about.

Over the past couple of weeks, our IB seniors and AP students have been sitting for their exams. This is an important time for them because it represents the culmination of two years of hard work, dedication, and resilience. We are proud of our students for their perseverance and commitment to learning, all made possible by the ongoing support from our faculty and parents. We are all behind you Seniors!

For anyone who had the opportunity to be on campus this week, smiles, laughter, and cheering have been all around. Whether it is through MS diving, abseiling, canoeing, acrobatics, amazing races or many of the activities organized on campus, our students (and faculty) have demonstrated teamwork, courage, and pure happiness. Having part of Malaysia Week here at school allowed us to explore new ways to use our campus as a learning environment and it gives us lots of ideas for the future.

All is good as well for our Middle Schoolers and Grade 9 students who are involved in a range of authentic activities in their respective campsites. We know those outdoor interdisciplinary experiences are nurturing strong friendships and creating memories for a lifetime! We are so grateful to the MS and HS team and all those involved, for making this happen, and for our parents’ continuous support!

Our Elementary Students celebrated Hari Raya today with a focus on several cultural activities, such as playing a game of Congkak, volleyball, singing, drumming (Kompang), or weaving a Ketupat casing. It was great to see the joy, curiosity, and engagement of our Elementary Students. Again, we wish those celebrating Hari Raya the best for the holiday season.

I hope you all received the invitation to join me for the Parent in Partnership session on May 24. It will be the last of this academic year and I will be presenting the 2022-2026 Strategic Plan, including our new Vision and Mission. ISKL’s Strategic Plan will be our guiding compass over the next four years for all we want to achieve as a school and will be instrumental in shaping our identity as a forward-thinking international school.

All parents are welcome to attend and I am looking forward to the opportunity to connect with you, share our future plans, and say thank you in person for your support.

And to our Buddhist families celebrating the upcoming Wesak Day, I wish you a peaceful and joyous celebration with your loved ones.

Wesak Day Wish

In partnership
