It’s that time of year where we welcome many new families into the ISKL community! As they transition themselves into our community, we want to give a big shoutout to those families who have moved on to new adventures.

At ISKL, we genuinely value receiving feedback from our departing families to improve and maintain the overall school experience. Here are a few thoughts we’ve collected from some of our leaving Panthers last semester with many describing their experience with online learning during the school closures and lockdowns:

“My daughter Asia B. has had the best experience in her recent school year at ISKL. We have no doubt whatsoever to highly recommended ISKL to any parents seeking the best education for their children and to obtain the all-rounded atmosphere that a growing child should have in their school environment.

‘Aside from giving the most impressive and world-class education, the staff at ISKL, which begin with administrators, admissions, and educators, are all very highly qualified and equally impressive. ISKL is the best top-notch international school in Kuala Lumpur and equivalent to an Ivy League school in the United States. My daughter and I are extremely disappointed to leave ISKL due to our transfer home to the United States. ISKL will always remain in our thoughts as a 5-star and an A+ academic establishment not only for their educations, sports, and many others ISKL had offered.

We were most fortunate and blessed to have found and chosen ISKL amongst the many excellent schools in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, for our daughter’s education” – Christine B., parent of a MS student.

We are devastated that we didn’t get the full ISKL experience. But through online learning, we engaged with the magnificent staff, and we are so grateful for all the support we received from everyone during a difficult year.” – Tess B., parent of an Elementary (ES) and Middle School (MS) student.

“We have been so happy at ISKL! My children have grown in so many different areas, especially in the areas of empathy and acceptance of other cultures. ” – Emily A., parent of an ES student.

“We have really appreciated our children’s and, by extension, our time at ISKL. The kids have thrived, and we have been impressed with the breadth, depth, and quality of education and associated programs at ISKL. The support during COVID while we were out of the country was good, and the efforts to include virtual students and their learning was appreciated.

‘We have appreciated and benefitted from the innovative approach to learning and incorporation of real-world issues in the learning provided; ISKL’s striving to incorporate new learning methods to ensure students can have a strong growth mindset and be creative problem solvers. We will miss the ISKL community and the amazing programs such as Malaysia Week and what would have been Global Action Program (GAP) if it weren’t for COVID’s cessation of travel. The extracurricular programs were great, and we especially appreciated the Aqua Panthers swim team and dedicated Coach George and the swim staff. The track program is a great option for students as well.” – A parent of an ES, MS, and High School (HS) student.

“Our time at ISKL has been the absolute highlight of our time in Malaysia. Our planned three years extended to eight because it has been too hard to leave this amazing school. We have made the dearest friends from all over the world, and our children have received the most well-rounded education from the most dedicated group of teachers. We feel so grateful to have had this ISKL experience, which we will carry with us for the rest of our lives.” – Jane C., parent of an ES, MS, and HS student.

“ISKL has been a dream come true. A school that is true to its values, culture, and learning. As parents, we wouldn’t have asked for a better school for our girls than ISKL. What’s more important about the school is its people. We have always seen smiling faces at ISKL (in person and virtually) who are always ready to support and help in the best manner possible.

‘The teachers have wonderfully dealt with every situation during these tough times with much resilience and patience. Learning is again at a different level altogether which is not restricted to the curriculum but makes the next generation ready for the future and think out of the box. It’s lifelong learning which truly helps the kids to survive and bloom irrespective of the place or situation. Thanks for a truly wonderful experience.” – Ruchi B., parent of an ES student.

“I wish to share that we had a very positive experience at ISKL. The facilities are incredible, but the best thing about ISKL is the people that make the school. It’s impressive how everyone working at the school is so genuinely positive and dedicated to its philosophy. I will always cherish the time our children went to ISKL. You can only do education once in a person’s lifetime, and we are so grateful that our children have had the opportunity to go to ISKL for their early years. We are very, very sad to leave.

‘We also wish to convey how we appreciate how the school handled the many school closures during this pandemic. We, as a family, felt very supported by the school to help us through this challenging time. HEARTFELT THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR THEIR CONTINUOUS SUPPORT!! We feel that we were lucky to be at ISKL during this pandemic, both emotionally and in terms of continuing our children’s learning. “ – a, parent of an ES student.

We hope that our departing families will take along their Panther spirit with them and remember our ISKL motto “Once a Panther, Always a Panther!”
