Cathryn returned to ISKL for this third weekend workshop. At this institute, Cathryn lead an exploration of concepts to further advance how your classrooms and schools authentically incorporate best practice of service learning, which is essentially best teaching and learning, period!
ISKL Community came forth with their help so generously and willingly that truly we should be proud.
The Green Council is merely a representation of our entire school’s body. Their task, among other things, is to document the successes of ISKL clubs, students, and classes in sustainable and service-learning related projects…
During their 30-minute performance, the staff members noticed a difference in some of the children in their level of engagement and interest. They saw things in their children that they hadn’t seen before…
The cultural assembly was vibrant with music and dances. Students, teachers and all staff members enjoyed the exciting performances by young professional dancers, even one as young as a two-year-old on stage!
GAP travel took the students to a new environment, a faraway land, a culture that was unique to them, and a place where they could partner with community projects. Many had opportunities to connect with communities and join them in site improvement projects leading students to a deeper sense of gratitude for the simple things.
The International Festival is truly a community event that takes many months of planning and many hours of Parents and Teachers volunteering, and staff transforming the school campus to make something fun and positive happen for the ISKL community.
The Middle School Student Council (STUCO) participated in a leadership training program by JUMP! Foundation, a non-profit social enterprise.
The purpose of the week was to build spirit, create new friendships, compete for house points and raise money for student council charities.
