On March 11, 2023, ISKL’s Inspire Programs campaign brought in renowned Guest Conductor Frank Troyka from Texas, USA, to conduct a workshop and clinic at the Melawati Theatre.
Expert facilitators and educators from The Institute for Social and Emotional Learning (IFSEL), Nick Haisman-Smith and Joe Tchen, joined us for a special workshop on the importance of social and emotional learning, how it contributes to academic success, and how parents can nurture their own family’s well-being.
The first episode of VOX ISKL on living by our values features Dr. Simran Singh as he guides participants in creating a values-based vision with tips on how to cultivate these values.
The US Embassy & EdUSA has teamed up to share some tips and reminders for those wanting to further their studies in the US.

This past week the International School of Kuala Lumpur (ISKL) participated in the worldwide Inclusive Schools Week sponsored by the Inclusive Schools Network.
George Jahnke from Touch NZ was at ISKL during the last week of November to run a series of coaching and training sessions for ISKL Touch, Rugby and PE students and coaches. George is a Touch legend, having represented New Zealand more than 100 times at Open and Masters level.
This past week, our music department had the honor to welcome Dr. Jeffrey Boeckman from the University of Hawai‘i, Mānoa as a conducting guest artist. His time here started with a Conducting Symposium in the Robert B. Gaw Theatre where he was able to give an incredible experience to local Malaysian conductors and music students.
