ISKL’s 2023/2024 Giving Tuesday Campaign Update

Giving Tuesday Campaign Update

On November 28, 2023, the International School of Kuala Lumpur (ISKL) launched its second Giving Tuesday campaign. As a nonprofit school owned by our parents and students, we are committed to our vision of caring for others and creating a better world. The Giving Tuesday initiative was a critical step towards achieving that vision, as giving has a transformative power that can inspire others to give, creating a ripple effect that positively impacts communities near and far.

Thanks to our generous donors, we successfully raised RM16,643.45, with a little over 50% of the proceeds, RM 8281.00, donated to the ISKL Inspire Programs (People, Places, Programs), which was allocated equally between the three Inspire Campaigns.

The remaining 50%, RM 7498.00, was given to our High School (HS) Student Leadership Team (SLT) and ISKL Service Council which was, in turn, split up and donated to four ISKL Service Learning clubs: The (SPCA) PAWS Protection of Animal Welfare and Safety Club, Key Club – Zotung Refugee Catholic Learning Centre (ZRCLC), The Chin Community Partnership Club and Children’s Future Education Center (CFEC).

Although we could not reach our fundraising goal of RM 20,000, we would like to thank our fantastic community members, including parents, faculty, and alumni, for their kind donations. Despite not reaching our target, we are delighted with the outcome and eager to support our students in their mission to care for others and make the world a better place.

The success of the Giving Tuesday campaign at our school underscores the strength of the community and the impact of collective generosity. It’s a powerful reminder that when we come together for a common purpose, we can create positive change and empower the next generation. The allocations to the various clubs are not merely financial contributions but investments in our student’s passions and potential.
