10 Questions for Andre Cheng Ho Sun (’08)

10 Questions is a new Newsletter Feature where we introduce you to Alumni by having them answer 10 questions. Not your typical alumni profile, but a nice way to learn a bit more about fellow alumni. We recently met up with Andre Sun (‘08) to see what he’s been up to and to ask him 10 questions.

  1. Have you or anyone you’ve known said they’ve seen or met your doppelganger? If so, who did they say was your double?

  9. What was your favorite part of the ISKL campus you attended, be it the Istana, Melawati and/or Ampang (Jalan Kolam Air Lama) or    Ampang Hilir location?
I attended both Ampang and Melawati. My favorite part was the walkway into the school
  10. What was your first and last day at ISKL like?
First was 2000 January and it was so confusing because I couldn’t speak English but then thanks to Haziq, who helped me a lot, then I got to meet my first Chinese friend Allen Li (‘08)! We are still friends today! The last day was graduation in 2008 and that was sad. I remember crying as we threw our graduation caps up in the air. I knew it was going to be difficult not to see all these friends I’ve made over the years but I’ve managed to meet up with a lot of them!

Andre is also still in touch with his High School IB Chinese teacher Mrs. Nian Nian Chen (current faculty) since being in Shanghai.

Andre Sun is High School IB English Teacher at Shanghai Community International School in Shanghai, China. While he was in

ISKL he was the biggest basketball fan and player. He participated in the sport on a varsity level from his sophomore year in 2006, onward. Despite his IASAS only career starting in 2006, he was never seen walking the halls without that basketball. His advice to seniors who are graduating this year would be “Everything will be okay in the end, if it’s not okay, it’s not the end”. Andre always has a positive outlook on life and always manages a smile through any obstacles. If you want to get in touch, you can find him on our Alumni Portal at https://alumni.iskl.edu.my/ .
