Panthers of ISKL #351: Armen Sultan K. (‘31) - The Problem-Solving Panther

Elementary students panthers of ISKL

When I collaborate with friends to solve problems to complete goals, and also play sports like football with them, it brings us closer than ever!

Meet Armen Sultan Khan. (‘31), a complex problem solver who believes that friendship is the key to the fun and enjoyment of his interests, not only in math, science, and humanities but in sports too. He feels that when he collaborates with friends and teammates, their value is what makes him happy!

Here is Armen’s story:

Can you tell us more about yourself?

I am American, but am originally from Pakistan, and before I joined ISKL, I lived in Dubai, where I was born and raised.

What subjects are you most interested in? And why?

I love math, science, and humanities because I love solving complex problems, writing paragraphs, and solving equations.

Tell us about your hobbies in and out of school.

At school, I love to play football and play the trombone, and outside of school, I love to swim and play piano.

What inspires you in these hobbies?

I am inspired by how I want to be healthy and fit, and these hobbies will lead me there, and also of course, just having fun and being competitive.

Who are your role models? Why do they influence and inspire you?

From my football perspective, I love Lionel Messi for his talent, and from my swimming perspective, I love Michael Phelps for his hard work and effort. I also love Muhammad Ali for his hard work and activism.

A boy stands on a platform, while a family sits on a circular bench and two separate family photos.

What is your most memorable moment at ISKL?

My most memorable moment at ISKL was very recent, when I played in Twin Towers football, hanging out with my friends, and playing football.

What connects you to your friends at ISKL in the classroom and beyond?

When I collaborate with friends to solve problems and complete goals, and also play sports like football with them, it brings us closer than ever

What Panther superlative reflects your Panther spirit and personality? Explain why.

I am the Most Onz Panther (Onz means nothing is impossible) because I love to think and try new things and do things that people call very hard or ‘impossible’.

Tell us why ISKL is special to you and what you like most about the school.

I love the diversity and the freedom to get to do lots of things I like, like Agency and Electives.

What does the ISKL vision ‘Know yourself, care for all and create a better world” mean to you?

To me, it means taking care of your needs, like health and self-esteem, caring for the people around you, by giving them kind treatment and being friendly, and working together to accomplish the goals we want to!
