I love watching the Varsity Basketball players because they’re team-oriented, dedicated, and determined. It's inspiring to see how they work together and push their limits. My goal is to keep improving so I can join Varsity Basketball one day!

A proud ISKL Panther since 2018, Chloe T. (‘33) is an active and driven student who thrives on challenges—both in the classroom and on the basketball court! Whether playing basketball, swimming, or exploring creative writing, she embraces every opportunity to grow and improve.

Inspired by her parents, teachers, and friends, she dreams of developing eco-friendly homes and making the world a better place.

Here is Chloe's story:

Tell us about yourself.

I'm Malaysian and have lived in Malaysia for my whole life. I love sports and staying active! I joined ISKL in Prep Reception 2018 and have been here for seven years.

You’ve been a dedicated ISKL basketball fan for years, cheering on the Varsity teams and now making your mark on the court. What inspires you most about the players you watch, and how do you see yourself becoming a Varsity player?

I love watching the Varsity players because they’re team-oriented, dedicated, and determined. It's inspiring to see how they work together and push their limits.

Last semester, I was on the basketball team, and now I’m part of the Fastbreak community sports program, which meets twice a week with games every Sunday. My goal is to keep improving so I can join Varsity one day!

My favorite basketball team is the Golden State Warriors from San Francisco, and my idol is Stephen Curry. His incredible three-pointers amaze me!

What is your favorite subject at school, and where is the best place to hang out on campus?

My favorite subject is writing, especially informational writing. We get to use creativity, organize ideas with tools like pie charts, and explore cool topics!

The best place to hang out is The Kanopi. My friends Greta, Ainsley, and I even run a mini-business. We use natural mud from The Kanopi, which is turned into clay, to create and sell handmade objects!

What’s something you found hard to learn but feel proud of now?

In Grade 4, we're building a model city. Our last science unit was about electricity; now we’re designing houses. The hardest part was hiding all the tape, and we could only use it on the “inside” of the structures! After asking lots of questions and experimenting, I finally figured out how to make my house sturdy and tape-free on the outside.

What are your hobbies and interests?

I stay busy! I play basketball, swim four times a week, and dance with the group “The Little Paws.” We’ve performed several times, and the most memorable ones were at iFest and “The Nutcracker.”

I also love reading, drawing, building things, hiking, taking piano classes, and learning Chinese. It’s tiring sometimes, but I enjoy it! My mom always encouraged me to learn for my personal growth and self-enrichment. The knowledge and experience I gain through learning will help me earn a scholarship one day!

Do you take part in any ASAs? Please describe them.

Yes! My ASAs include Bahasa Melayu, Ukulele, Comic Strip, Aqua Panthers, and Forensic Science. Each one lets me explore different skills - from language to music to solving mysteries!

Chloe T. and Family

What do you want to be when you grow up?

A developer! My dad, an architect, inspires me. I want to design eco-friendly homes and master plans that make the world greener and a better place to live.

Who or what inspires you?

My greatest sources of inspiration, motivation, and encouragement are my parents, family members, teachers, coaches, and friends. They help me build my self-confidence and grow into the person I am today. I am very thankful for their support, guidance, and love, and I will always be grateful to them.

If you could have any superpower, what would that be and why?

Teleportation! I’d instantly go wherever people need help - like rescuing them during disasters.

If you had a time machine, would you visit the past or the future? What would you do there?

The future! I’d check if I’m designing sustainable houses and making the world a better place, just like I dream of now.

What does “Know yourself, care for all, and create a better world” mean to you?

For me, knowing yourself means understanding who you are, staying humble, and appreciating your strengths. Care for all means being kind, showing compassion to others, helping others, and acting as a global citizen. To create a better world means caring for the Earth, as even small acts of kindness can make a big difference!
