“The best memories of ISKL I have are going to Phuket for football, spending time with my coach, friends, and teammates, and just having a whole week of playing football, getting better, and facing other teams. ”
Meet Noah W. (’28), a Grade 9 student from Switzerland and the USA who joined ISKL in Grade 5. Noah is an avid player of football whose dreams are to become a goalkeeper in the Premier League.
Here is Noah’s story:
Can you tell us more about yourself? Which grade did you join ISKL in?
My name is Noah. I am half-Swiss and half-American. Before joining ISKL, I lived in Peru. I am in Grade 9 and joined when I was in the Grade 5.
We understand you have a passion for becoming a professional football player. Please tell us more.
When I grow up, I hope to play in the Premier League as a goalkeeper. It will take a lot of work, but I want to work every day to complete that dream.
Can you tell us more about your other hobbies and interests?
I really like animals. I have a dog that I love playing with. I also really like computers, and I have my gaming computer at home, on which I play video games. I also like to hang out with my brother when he returns from college.
What are your hopes and dreams for the future?
When I’m older, I hope to play football professionally; if not, I hope to take care of my family and repay them for everything they’ve given me.
Who or what inspires you or has influenced you?
My mom inspires me daily; she helps me through difficult periods, keeps me working, and pushes me through tough times. So does my brother. I’ve always looked up to him as a role model, as well as my dad. My dad has given me many opportunities, even by driving me to football practice and buying me things I need.
Most memorable moment at ISKL?
The best memories of ISKL I have are going to Phuket for football, spending time with my coach, friends, and teammates, and just having a whole week of playing football, getting better, and facing other teams.
What does “Know yourself, care for all, and create a better world” “mean to you?
To create a better world, you need to know yourself and care for yourself. Then, after that, you’ll see that helping others comes easy for you because not knowing your true self can make you doubtful in some situations. But when you truly find who you are, you see the world differently, you become a different kind of person, and you understand people better.
