Melinda (Mindy) Masonis – US Embassy Appointee
Mindy and her family moved to Kuala Lumpur in July 2021. She is the Counselor for Public Affairs at U.S. Embassy Kuala Lumpur, managing all cultural, education, and press programs for the United States in Malaysia. Prior to this assignment, Mindy was the Director for the Office of Public Affairs for the Bureau of East Asia and Pacific Affairs at the U.S. Department of State, managing media strategy, press relations, and public outreach for the bureau. In this role, she also served as the Bureau’s spokesperson. Mindy and her family have also lived and worked in Bangkok, Jerusalem, and Washington, DC. She has a B.A. in International Relations from Michigan State University and an M.A. in Media and Public Affairs from George Washington University.
Mindy joined the Board as the appointee from the American Embassy in 2021.
Mindy and her husband have one child who is in Grade 8 at ISKL.
