ISKL’s HS Club Fair: A Gateway to Student Engagement and Co-Curricular Learning

High School Club Fair Blog

Every year, ISKL’s High School (HS) Student Leadership Team holds the much-anticipated HS Club Fair, and this year was no exception. With almost 50 clubs represented, the Fair provides students with the opportunity to sign up for clubs they are interested in, ranging from humanities, business, arts, STEM, and language, through to wellness, advocacy, sustainability, and community partnerships.

Held early in the academic year, the HS Club Fair is a lively hub of activity with students walking from booth to booth, talking with club leaders and advisors about club options and commitments. Clubs pitch their causes to recruit members with posters and fun games, enabling new and returning students to find their niche, connect with like-minded peers, and join meaningful projects and organizations.

Students discover the many exciting opportunities available at the club fair

HS students at the HS Club Fair connect with various student-led clubs, exploring new interests and opportunities for the school year.

Lizzie T. (‘27), a club leader for Panther Media, a student-led creative club dedicated to showcasing school spirit and student life at ISKL, shares that she thinks the HS Club Fair is a great opportunity for students to be able to ask more questions directly to club leaders, “Students also get to find out about the recently added clubs for that year and join those that they are interested in. It is also a great time for all the clubs to individually appeal to students by showing what they do and why students should consider joining their club,” she says.

For ISKL’s International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme students, the HS Club Fair experience includes specialized 'Creativity, Activity, and Service (CAS)' projects, offering unique opportunities to fulfill IB CAS requirements while making a difference in the community, with currently 15 service and sustainability clubs that students can participate in.

Being part of clubs and activities opens the door to new friendships, builds leadership skills, and enriches the High School experience. It also enhances university and college applications, facilitating personal growth and exploration. Club leader Lizzie T. ('27) adds, “The fair definitely helps students develop skills like communication and organization. Organizational skills are developed through the process of coming up with ideas on how to showcase their club in the Club Fair in the best way, and the planning that comes with it to make sure that everything is planned out beforehand.”

Whether students want to try something new or deepen their commitment to a cause, ISKL's HS Club Fair is an invitation for students to pursue their passions, help explore future career choices, and make a difference.
