ISKL Awards 2025-2026 Pathways Scholarships
Two outstanding Malaysian students, Jowina Jessie W. and Reshmaa Ranni Chetri M., have been awarded four-year scholarships to attend The International School of Kuala Lumpur (ISKL) under the school’s Pathways Scholarship program. The awards were presented during a special ceremony held at ISKL’s campus in Ampang Hilir on April 21, 2025.
Jowina, a student at SMK Seri Bintang Utara in Kuala Lumpur, and Reshmaa, from SMK Bandar Putra 2 in Kulai, Johor, will begin their studies at ISKL in August 2025. They will join a diverse student body of more than 1,800 learners representing over 70 nationalities.
Now in its fourth year, the ISKL Pathways Scholarship is a merit- and needs-based program that provides two Malaysian students who have completed Form 3 with a fully funded four-year education from Grade 9 through Grade 12. Scholarship recipients benefit from ISKL’s inclusive, globally focused, and future-ready High School experience, which includes the opportunity to undertake the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) in Grades 11 and 12.
The award ceremony was attended by Puan Majeedah binti Mohd Shukor, Principal Assistant Director of the Ministry of Education’s Private Education Division. Presenting the certificates to the recipients, Puan Majeedah praised the students’ achievements, saying, “These two remarkable young individuals have demonstrated an outstanding level of achievement and character. I warmly congratulate them on the dedication and perseverance that have earned them this well-deserved opportunity."
ISKL’s Head of School, Mr. Rami Madani, thanked the Ministry of Education for its ongoing support and emphasized the importance of the Pathways Scholarship in building community connections and educational access. “Every year, we are privileged to meet applicants who excel across academics, service, and extracurricular activities,” said Mr. Madani. “Jowina and Reshmaa stood out for their achievements and the values they hold. What impressed our interview panel most was their belief in improving conditions for themselves, others, and the world around them.”
In addition to meeting academic criteria, Pathways Scholarship applicants were asked to demonstrate alignment with ISKL’s Vision — to know yourself, care for others, and create a better world — emphasizing personal growth and a commitment to making a positive impact. Candidates showcased their understanding of global issues and involvement in community initiatives, reflecting ISKL’s focus on nurturing well-rounded individuals prepared to contribute meaningfully to the world.
The scholarship reflects ISKL’s commitment to helping young people shape their path as global citizens. For more information about the ISKL Pathways Scholarship, please visit:
