ISKL Achieves The Highly Commended Relocate Award for its Relocation Support Program

In our fast-paced world, employees with children are sometimes hesitant to make a big move or take up an assignment in a foreign country – often wondering about how successful the relocation experience would be.

Yet, given the right support and assistance, families can enjoy a well-coordinated transition to a new school and location, which in turn has proven to encourage new families to stay longer in their new jobs and countries.

On May 12, 2020, ISKL won the coveted ‘Highly Commended Award’ for ‘School Providing Outstanding Relocation Support’ at the Think Relocate Awards 2020 ceremony. Think Relocate Awards is an awards program hosted by Relocate magazine, a digital and print relocation publication based in the United Kingdom. Since 2015, the publication has held an annual award ceremony recognizing various organizations that, as mentioned in their website, “embrace the changes across international management and global mobility.”

Due to the COVID-19 global pandemic this year, the awards ceremony was held virtually with participants tuning in to watch via live stream. ISKL, along with Carfax College Oxford, Garden International School, and TASIS the American School in England, were the four schools shortlisted for the nomination, with Garden International attaining the Winner title.

Sponsored by the International School of London (last year’s winner), the award was open to all categories of schools – public, independent and international schools from around the globe who provide exceptional support to families who are relocating.

As stated in the Relocate awards entry form, “Examples of flexibility around admissions, an understanding of the employer’s perspective, and case studies regarding unusual requirements” were some of the key factors that helped determine which schools demonstrated the best understanding of relocation issues.

Furthermore, criteria such as language/native language tuition, cross-cultural support, access to relocation resources, strong connections with relocation professionals, an active parent/teacher body offering a range of support, resources, and social events for pupils and families led judges to decide on the nominations.

This is the first time that ISKL was shortlisted for the Relocate award and we are thrilled to have achieved the Highly Commended award!

Thank you again to our team of admission specialists and over 100 volunteer parents, students, and alumni ambassadors who together have brought the ISKL experience to life – ensuring families feel confident in choosing our school and community.
