Head of School Weekly Posts

The biggest questions any school can ask itself is what is its purpose and why does it exist?

A typical week at ISKL is filled with an amazing variety of activities involving every part of our community. This week has been no exception

Connection, sharing, and positivity are all essential elements of our community here at ISKL.

Welcome back to all our families, I hope you enjoyed a relaxing holiday, and are ready for a learning-filled semester!

As a school, we focus on specific timeframes to fulfill our Vision and Mission. We plan how we will support our students, advance their learning, and as a forward-thinking school...

What a week it has been, and once again we continue to be grateful to belong to a community that is so adaptable, agile, and supportive.

Health and safety is our highest priority and given the increase in COVID-19 cases, I wanted to reassure parents that we are closely monitoring the situation

There are a great many people that make ISKL such a special place – our wonderful students, supportive parents, and talented faculty and staff.

However we express the concept, viewing and experiencing the world from the perspective of others is an essential part of our mindset at ISKL, fundamental to our culture, and how we teach and learn.

Curiosity sparked. It’s part of our Vision and a key driver in learning, but how do we spark curiosity in our students and what does it have to do with a campfire?!

I’m going to start by celebrating the positive! Each afternoon this week we have been treated to hearing the laughter and lively chat of our High School students

Whether you were born and raised in Malaysia or, like me, lucky enough to now call Malaysia home – we all share the great privilege of celebrating National Day

Autumn 1964; the Beatles were taking the world by storm, The Civil Rights Act was signed into law in the United States, and Peace Corps volunteer Robert Fendly was asked if he would set up an international school in Kuala Lumpur.

Today we celebrate the conclusion of our first full week at school. I have been so impressed with our students who have taken wearing their masks, physical distancing and all our other health and safety protocols in their stride.

A very warm and physically distanced ISKL welcome to our new and returning families!
