Honoring our Grade 5 and Grade 8 students as they prepare to transition to the next stage of their educational journey is a longstanding tradition that sees their contributions to ISKL acknowledged. As the school year draws to a close, students and their families, faculty, and staff gather to celebrate those important milestones. For those in Grade 5 and Grade 8, this transition is marked by special ceremonies that honor their achievements and prepare them for the challenges ahead. These moving-on ceremonies are filled with joy, nostalgia, and anticipation as they signify both an end and a new beginning.

For Grade 5 students, it marks the completion of Elementary School, a time when they have laid the foundation of their academic and social skills. Grade 8 students, on the other hand, are stepping out of Middle School and are ready to embrace the increased responsibilities and opportunities of High School.

In the academic year of 2023-2024, we proudly celebrate the achievements of our Grade 5 students (Class of 2031) and Grade 8 students (Class of 2028). These students have shown remarkable progress, and we are excited to see them continue to learn and pursue their dreams. We are confident they will make us proud as they reflect on their past and look to the future.

Class of 2031 – Grade 5 to Grade 6: Elementary to Middle School

Elementary School begins as an essential journey for parents and their children. Its much-anticipated path is the first stage of learning and independent growth, so as students transition to Middle School, there is much to celebrate.

A highlight of this year’s ceremony is the sharing of memories, as students are encouraged to reflect upon their Elementary School experiences, recollecting the first day of school, music, concerts, sports, trips, Red Hat responsibilities, and friendships.

We are excited to anticipate their future Middle School pathways after witnessing such exuberance from our Class of 2031 cohort of students.

Class of 2028 – Grade 8 to Grade 9: Middle to High School

Family and friends of the Class of 2028 were invited to observe ISKL’s 171 Grade 8 students as they celebrated their Moving On Ceremony on June 6, 2024, in the Robert B. Gaw Theatre.

The Moving On Ceremony was a joyous celebration of our students’ achievements and personal growth. Heartfelt speeches from our Head of School, Rami Madani, MS Principal Peter Casey, faculty, and student representatives filled the room with wisdom and gratitude, while musical performances by the MS students added a harmonious touch.

One of the highlights was the emotional slideshow, which captured unforgettable moments from events such as Malaysia Week, theatre and music performances, and sporting events that forged friendships over the students’ last three years in Middle School. The presentation of certificates was a proud moment for all, symbolizing the students’ readiness for the next stage of their educational journey. This ceremony marked the end of one chapter and celebrated the bright futures that lie ahead, showcasing the remarkable personal growth of our students.

As a school community, we congratulate our graduating Grade 5 and Grade 8 students. We are grateful for the unwavering support and dedication of their parents, family, friends, and ISKL employees. We hope our students will make the most of the opportunities at ISKL, value the education they receive from our dedicated educators, and wish them success in their future endeavors.
