Panthers of ISKL

Meet Zara S., a student whose passion for the arts has grown alongside her life at ISKL. Seizing every opportunity to combine the two, her active roles include being a member of the ILHAM Student Council, an ISKL Arts Society Executive, IASAS Art and CARE Club member. Contributing to these initiatives has enabled her to be proactive in forging links with the arts community in school and beyond.

Meet Pecky L., or ‘Cikgu Pecky’, a friendly representative for the PTA’s Malaysian community at ISKL. Her warmth and dedication shine through in her work and as a substitute teacher, where she witnesses students' growth across grades.

Meet Mihir B. (‘25), a recent ISKL graduate who offers practical advice for students pursuing the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme. He provides a realistic perspective on how to align career dreams with the right direction.

Meet our IASAS Chess Team Players, who showcased their focused approach to the sport during this year’s online tournament. Played virtually for logistical purposes, the IASAS Chess Tournament emulates a real competition by hosting four participating school teams, scoreboards, and official results announcements. This year's results were collected by Taipei American School (TAS).

Meet our SEA Forensics & Debate Panthers, Wilder B. (‘27) and Tillie VdB. (‘26) who participated in the 46th SEA Forensics Tournament on February 5 - 7, 2026. 

Meet Marlena A.R., an ISKL parent and valued Country Representative for the ISKL Malaysian Community. Her commitment to representing her country and connecting ISKL families to what Malaysia can offer them is a role she undertakes with pleasure.

Meet Kishen J. (‘28), a true testament to how an individual can show adaptability in the face of adversity. Suffering a knee injury just before football tryouts in Season 1, he switched direction in Season 2 and found an unanticipated passion for swimming. He credits team bonding, coaching, and an ISKL culture that shows support to its students in facing challenges.

Meet our Dancing Twin Panthers, who share this passion but otherwise have their own individual interests and hobbies. We learn how their drive, commitment, and determination in dance extend into their focus and enjoyment of other academic-focused subjects.

Meet our IASAS S2 2025-2026 Panthers who each shone in their Basketball, Rugby, Touch, Swimming, and Tennis varsity teams. These sporting students were enthusiastic to share their experiences with our ISKL community about their participation in IASAS and what it meant to them.

Meet High School student Amanda, who is completing her journey at ISKL in 2026 - one that started in Grade 1 and will be coming to a close in Grade 12. While her commitment to caring for the planet has evolved throughout her time at ISKL, she is determined to bring the values of sustainability and environmental concerns with her as she steps into a world beyond school.

Meet Julia Hughes, an ES Grade 4 teacher born in Idaho and raised in Colorado. She has spent her career on an incredible journey, building global connections and inspiring students around the world. 

Meet Dean T. (‘34), an ES student who was nominated for truly embodying the ISKL spirit for his kindness to others. With a love of soccer, rock climbing, and an evolving passion for gardening, we learn what it means to him to be a Panther.

Susie Fisher’s resourceful approach to dressmaking leads a wonderful parent volunteer team, The ISKL Bobbins. Her management of ISKL’s costume design room is inspired by the students’ excitement for the finished results.

Meet longstanding community member, Karamjit Kaur, who has worked in ISKL’s Admissions Department since 1994. With over thirty-one years of experience, Karamjit has had the privilege of working with families from all over the world, welcoming and supporting them with the transition into ISKL.

IASAS MUN Secretary General Rajit G. (’26) reflects on the inspirations that shaped his five-year MUN journey and shares what it was like organizing the 2025 MUN conference—from the preparation involved to his hopes of inspiring the next generation of Panthers.
