Panthers of ISKL

Meet Drew, a panther who shows so much appreciation and value for the fifteen years he has been a part of the ISKL community. Returning to Canada, he shares what makes ISKL special and what the school means to him and his family. As a teacher and parent, he leaves us full of memories that will last a lifetime.

Meet Zhao Y.K. (‘25) a recent member of the ISKL alumni community and an individual who believes that giving wholeheartedly is the key to expressing what you love in life. Zhao believes that if you have a clear sense of who you are, you will be poised for success; advice that he has taken himself to establish his newfound path at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, USA.

Meet four Music Delegates who each represented ISKL at the IASAS Cultural Convention at the International School of Manila (ISM) from February 26-28, 2026. Their showcase of exceptional talent, combined with their inspiring creativity, were testament to why these ISKL students inspire future generations.

Meet three IASAS Dance, Drama and Tech (DDT) Delegates who each represented ISKL at the International School of Bangkok (ISB) from February 26-28, 2026. Their celebration of creative expression, combined with their individual talents, showcased how these ISKL students inspire future generations.

Meet Francis Maginn, who originates from Austin, Texas. His teaching journey has led him from his hometown in America through China, Taiwan, and Bangladesh before arriving in Malaysia to join ISKL as our High School Science and Theory of Knowledge Teacher.  An avid musician and linguist, he is an educator who adopts a holistic approach to teaching and believes in the inclusive ethos of ISKL.

Meet Tillie, a Panther who finds inspiration in people, places, and politics. She views the world around her with open eyes and an open mind, expressing her personality through fashion, speech, and debate. Her highly motivated approach to life and her aspiration to ‘create a better world’ is impressive; so whilst she is inspired by others, we are inspired by her.

Meet our IASAS S3 2025-2026 Panthers whose spirit shone in their varsity teams this season. Representing Badminton, Golf, Baseball & Softball, Track & Field, these sporting students were enthusiastic to share their experiences with our ISKL community about their participation in IASAS and what it meant to them.

Meet Melalyn Ng, a dynamic and dedicated Grade 4 teacher, whose classroom is filled with learning and laughter in equal measure. She keeps her students engaged, curious, and creatively inspired so that they recognize their individuality but also understand they are part of a tight-knit team. The foundations of this sense of security have a longstanding impact on her students, which they take with them far beyond Grade 4.

Meet Timmy C. (‘27), a Panther with such determination that he attended IASAS Dance only weeks after being in recovery for a broken leg. His interests and passions are driven by his enthusiasm for school life, whether that be on the stage, athletics track, rugby pitch, volleyball court, or even learning skills in his newfound hobby of bouldering. Timmy is the perfect example of a student with Panther spirit.

Meet Zara S., a student whose passion for the arts has grown alongside her life at ISKL. Seizing every opportunity to combine the two, her active roles include being a member of the ILHAM Student Council, an ISKL Arts Society Executive, IASAS Art and CARE Club member. Contributing to these initiatives has enabled her to be proactive in forging links with the arts community in school and beyond.

Meet Pecky L., or ‘Cikgu Pecky’, a friendly representative for the PTA’s Malaysian community at ISKL. Her warmth and dedication shine through in her work and as a substitute teacher, where she witnesses students' growth across grades.

Meet Mihir B. (‘25), a recent ISKL graduate who offers practical advice for students pursuing the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme. He provides a realistic perspective on how to align career dreams with the right direction.

Meet our IASAS Chess Team Players, who showcased their focused approach to the sport during this year’s online tournament. Played virtually for logistical purposes, the IASAS Chess Tournament emulates a real competition by hosting four participating school teams, scoreboards, and official results announcements. This year's results were collected by Taipei American School (TAS).

Meet our SEA Forensics & Debate Panthers, Wilder B. (‘27) and Tillie VdB. (‘26) who participated in the 46th SEA Forensics Tournament on February 5 - 7, 2026. 

Meet Marlena A.R., an ISKL parent and valued Country Representative for the ISKL Malaysian Community. Her commitment to representing her country and connecting ISKL families to what Malaysia can offer them is a role she undertakes with pleasure.
