ISKL PATHWAYS SCHOLARSHIP

The International School of Kuala Lumpur (ISKL) offers the Pathways Scholarship for Malaysian students who have or will complete their Form 3 school assessment.

Thank you for your interest in the International School of Kuala Lumpur (ISKL) and our Pathways Scholarship. ISKL offers scholarships each year for Malaysian students who have completed Form 3 and would continue in a 4-year high school program (Grades 9-12). These are full scholarships that include all compulsory fees.

ISKL Pathways scholarship will be granted to deserving and inspirational students who believe, as we do, that the purpose of a school is to prepare students for life itself. We believe in the importance of helping students to shape their own paths, supporting them in discovering their passions, developing their competencies, and having an ethical impact on the world.

In its commitment to achieving ISKL’s vision and mission, ISKL will offer the ISKL Pathways Scholarship for Malaysian students who have completed their Form 3 school assessment during the 2024-2025 school year. The scholarship is merit and need-based and is equivalent to a four-year study of the High School Program, so from Grade 9 to Grade 12.

Scholarship recipients would have access to high-quality, internationally recognized education that enables every learner to choose the curriculum best suited to their abilities, interests, and aspirations.

The ISKL Pathways scholarship includes full tuition and external exam fees* and offers an international education that opens doors.

THE SCHOLARSHIP TIMELINE AND KEY DATES

Step 1

By November 8, 2024 – Fill out the inquiry form here and wait for an email from the school with further information 

Step 2

By November 29, 2024, candidates must complete the ISKL Application form.

Step 3

On December 9, 2024, Scholarship Exams (Math, English and short handwritten essay) at ISKL.

Step 4

On January 27, 2025, the panel interviews for shortlisted candidates will be held at ISKL.

Step 5

By early Februrary 2025 , the successful candidates will be notified of the scholarship awards.

Step 6

On Monday, March 3, 2025, the scholarship recipients and their families will be invited to the Certificate Award Reception held at ISKL.

THE SCHOLARSHIP OFFER

The cohort of scholarship candidates will begin school in August 2025, continuing through to June 2029. The scholarship is equivalent to a four-year study of the High School at The International School of Kuala Lumpur. The scholarship covers the following:

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be a Malaysian Citizen 
  • Have experience initiating/volunteering for a cause the candidate cares about and believes is fundamental to societal progress/previous commitment to community service.
  • The candidate must demonstrate academic excellence. Candidates must submit a copy of their report cards, school records/transcript from the past 3 years with completed application forms.
  • Personal statement from the applicant explaining why they are applying  for the scholarship and the positive contribution they will make to the ISKL community. 750 words maximum. 
  • Confidential Reference Form from the current school
  • Extracurricular involvement
  • ISKL’s annual tuition fees must comprise 50% or more of a family’s combined annual household income. For example, the annual tuition fees for Grade 9-12 this school year is currently set at RM 127,600. Therefore, to be eligible to apply for the 2024-2025 Pathways Scholarship, the family’s combined annual household income must be no more than RM 255,200. Additional supporting documentation may be requested upon ISKL’s receipt of the Application Form.
  • Applicants whose family’s household annual income is more than [50%] of ISKL’s annual fees will nevertheless be considered if it can be proven that the family has a significant financial commitment (for example, subsidizing educational costs or medical costs for other dependents).
  • All applicants, including their families (i.e., parents or guardians) will need to provide evidence of all required information to assess their eligibility for the scholarship (i.e. tax returns and bank statements) / 3 months bank statements and latest tax returns.
  • Completed ISKL Application for Admission form
  • Scanned copy of the applicant’s Malaysian identity card
  • Meet all other application requirements of the scholarship program.
  • Successful candidates will be asked to complete ISKL’s Student Health Form, parts of which are to be completed by a doctor.
