The Middle School Vocal Groups are made up of a number of different groups . These are: the after school choir, 'Voice Countzz' which meets every Monday from 3:00 - 4:30 , the 6th grade curruiculum choir class and the 8th grade choir class. Both of these groups meet every day.
The choir varies in its composition as the only class that continues for the whole year is the 8th grade and thus the ability and experience of the group is constantly changing. Many differing styles are offered and covered from contemporary pieces to classics , show tunes, folk and pop songs.
'BLISS ' is an auditioned 8th grade group that meets after school on Tuesdays. It is a popular group to try out for and competition for the places is strong! Usually this is a girls only group but we have been known to 'allow' some of the boys to join on the odd occassion.
Their repertoire is popular songs from the charts both recent and from the past. It is nearly always sung in 3part and usually SSA although if we have boys in the group we'll cover the tenor parts as well. A light hearted group that's lots of fun to participate in.
The 6th grade ' Voice Works' choir class is one group and we also have an 8th grade choir. Every Monday there is an after school cholir called 'Voice Countzz". The students are often combined so that they can sing more advanced pieces with a greater variety of parts and consequently depth of sound.
