About Our Library

The Melawati Library is a very busy place, serving over 600 children in Prep Reception (age 3) to Grade 5. Our library is staffed by Donna Eisen, Librarian; Karamjit Kaur, Senior Assistant; Sharm Velaedam, Library Acquisitions; and Chandran Karuppan, AV Technology Technician.  Our collection consists of over 25,000 books and audiovisual items on all subjects. We are open on school days for research, information problem solving instruction, reading, storytelling and checking out books.  Eighteen computers are available to students for taking Accelerated Reading quizzes and Raz-Kids Reading quizzes, locating books and for supervised Internet access.
