Our advanced academic programs continue to be a major strength of the High School and the numbers of students involved in taking programs involving external exams continues to grow. This year began with 85 Grade 11 students beginning work on the IB Diploma program which is approximately the same number we began with last year. In the May 2011 exam session, 76 seniors, or 51 % of the Senior class, completed course work for their IB Diplomas and sat their exams. Interest in the American Advanced Placement (AP) program and IB certifi cates continued to be steady. Both programs attracted students putting together a rigorous academic program that focuses on their areas of strength. Ninety percent (136 of 150) of our Seniors were enrolled in one or more IB HL or AP classes and 66% of them took three or more university level IB Higher level courses.
