Spanish is taught in grades 3 to 5 to students who are native speakers of English, or who function at that level. Students use Spanish to communicate orally and in writing through learning activities; including reading and creating stories in class. In addition to the language, students study the perspectives, practices and contributions of Spanish speaking cultures. Students who are not yet fluent in English continue to build their skills with additional EAL. After school, Malaysian students take lessons in Bahasa Melayu. Parents from the community organize afternoon classes of various languages. In the past Finnish, Norwegian and Dutch have been offered.
