 Welcome to the website of the International School of Kuala Lumpur. I trust this site will offer helpful insights about ISKL whether you are presently a member of the ISKL community, anticipating a move to Kuala Lumpur and considering enrolment at ISKL, or are just seeking data about excellent international schools.
What does ISKL offer that is excellent? Excellence always begins with people. ISKL has an outstanding faculty and staff, talented and motivated students and a supportive and enthusiastic parent body. This combination is a powerful mix that generates excitement for learning on a daily basis. ISKL holds high academic and behavioral standards for its students. The result is students who are academically and socially well prepared for the next stage of their education, whether that stage is elementary school, middle school, high school or university.
“To walk in a harmonious environment, where care follows closely behind, learning is stimulated, curiosity is sparked, vision is cultivated and action is inspired.” This Vision for Our Students sustains us in all that we say and do. Each day our faculty and staff seek to offer both challenge and care to our students, assisting them to meet their potential as students and active global citizens. We value education for the whole child, fostering the intellectual, emotional, social and physical development of our students.
At ISKL our two campuses are friendly, vibrant environments in which parents, alumni and guests are always welcome. Fostering a strong sense of community where people are valued for their interests and contributions is very important to us. We offer students and families a broad array of opportunities to become involved in the school. Our co-curricular program is an expansive one and results in busy campuses six and sometimes seven days a week.
These are stimulating times for ISKL. Despite the global recession, our enrolment has remained strong, reaching over 1,650 total students this past school year. Our students are diverse, with 60+ nationalities represented, and with no one country representing more than 22% of our total student body. Any student attending ISKL will literally have the opportunity to interact with students from around the world each day. How exciting!
In addition, our campuses offer excellent facilities that provide wonderful environments for learning. Even as we seek a new campus site on which to accommodate our growing population, we have put much time and energy into enhancing our present campuses. We have also consistently improved and enlarged the programs offered to our students via, for example, an expanding Mandarin Language program for our elementary students, pastoral care initiatives in our middle school and high school and an experiential learning program (Global Action Program) for our high school students.
