ISKL is located
at the heart of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Malaysia
is one of Southeast Asia's most rapidly developing
countries. Kuala Lumpur, the capital, is a dynamic
city of over two million people.
Kuala Lumpur is also the heart of Malaysia's development.
Commerce, industry, communications, politics and
government are all centered here. The home of the one time
tallest building in the world, the Petronas Twin
Towers, Kuala Lumpur is blessed with friendly faces
and luxurious cuisines of blended cultures and is
a paradise for shoppers.
Keeping traditions alive, Kuala Lumpur often hosts
cultural events and celebrates the nation's festivals.
The heart of Kuala Lumpur regularly sees many great
city celebrations and international events and shows,
such as Malaysia Fest and Flora Fest. There are
restaurants, cafes and clubs that guarantee a great
night out. Kuala Lumpur is known as the city that
never sleeps.
The tropical weather, beautiful sights and warm
inviting people of Malaysia are sure to make your
stay here an enjoyable and memorable one.
Our facilities include comfortable
air conditioned classrooms. All classrooms (except
science labs) are carpeted. The class size ranges
from 16 - 22 students per class.
Comprehensive, full-service
libraries are located on each campus with over 40,000
books, periodicals, reference materials, and audio-visual
aids. Computer workstations are networked with online
catalog, internet access and a variety of licensed
research programs. A professional librarian on each
campus assists students, faculty and the wider school
community.
ISKL has several fully equipped
science labs at both campuses. Each lab is carefully
modified to suit the needs of the course being taught.
The secondary school labs are linked to a highly
developed science preparation room operated by a
senior lab technician and assistant. ISKL's High
School has moved towards computerized data collection
and has a range of software for use with the required
IT graphing calculator. (Simulations and data analysis
software can be found in all areas) Each lab, MS
& HS has at least 4 PC computers.
ISKL provides computer and
network access to all students in classrooms appropriate
to their age and grade level. Computer labs are
available to students on both the Melawati and Ampang
campuses. Macintosh and IBM compatible computers
with CD-ROM drives are used. Access to the Internet
is also available on every computer. Students have
their own e-mail accounts and communicate regularly
with their teachers and each other on class projects.
There are theaters on both
the Ampang and Melawati campuses. Both theaters
are air conditioned and are used for drama classes
and productions, dance performances, music concerts
and assemblies.
There is a full-size swimming
pool on both the Ampang and Melawati campuses. Students
in Grades K-12 have swimming lessons in their physical
education classes. Swimming is also an after school
activity at both campuses.
Melawati has music classrooms
as well as a large group performance facility. Ampang
has choir and band/orchestra classrooms for both
middle and high school students. Practice rooms
provide access to pianos.
The Ampang campus has an
attractive dance studio for middle and high school
students which is home for many of our ballet, jazz
or hip hop dancers.
A rehearsal/workshop/instructional
space is located at the Ampang campus. This venue
is used for one-act play performances, middle school
drama classes and as a technical theater lab by
our talented student technicians.
The Ampang campus has several
areas used for basketball, tennis, volleyball and
badminton.
Indoor canteens are located
at both campuses and provide delicious and nutritious
meals for our students daily. A set lunch is available
at the elementary school. The middle/high schools
have a variety of menus from which to choose in
a 'food court' structure.
ISKL contracts a fleet of
air-conditioned buses that provides safe and comfortable
transportation to and from ISKL.
